To be honest the only way to do it that isn't as bad as chemical treatments, is buying a spray on heat protector and purchase a good pair of striaghteners with tourmaline, a stone that they cover the plates with for extra protection iron straight and sleek finish, and purchase them from the internet such as ebay or amazon to get it at the fraction fo the price. Do not just buy any straightener. Most are extremely tough on hair and make it dry and come out. My recommendations are:
GHD's
GHS or HS+
Chi
These are the best, but you can research. I have curly hair and i bought pink HS+ [a copycat of GHD but equally as good, and not as expensive] and my hair is iron straight and sleek right now

Hi. I have wavy/curly hair and sometimes I straighten my hair. If your hair is wet like after you shower you should towel dry your hair and you could put some kind of straightening balm in if you want to. I use a product by Charles Washington. It's really good. You spray it in and it makes your hair really soft. Then I blowdry my hair straight. Use a brush and blowdry sections of your hair at a time until it's straight. Blowdrying your entire head shouldn't take too long. Then you can run a straightener on your your doing it in sections. It might seem like it takes a long time to do it all but for me it's usually 20 minutes. You don't always have to use a straightener. It depends on if you missed some sections or if you don't want your hair to be so "big" and a little less big. I hope I helped.
