(My Male Asian Hair): How can I make my hair less dry and poofy and more soft and silky?

My hair looks like these guy's hair in the pictures. I shampoo and use conditioner and let my hair air dry, but it still comes out dry and kinda puffy, and in some places where my hair is shorter it sticks up. Is there any way I can make it cling to my scalp more and make it more soft, smooth, and slick, so it doesn't look like I'm growing a bush on my head? I hate my ugly Asian genes, gahh.

How can I get longer hair that looks like Tom Cruise when he had long hair? Here's some reference pictures:

Will a hair iron help me out? Or an expensive hair straightening treatment (not sure how long those will last though)? I don't mind using hair products either, but just don't want my hair to feel greasy

Straightening iron will probably look obvious since your hair is short. And a straightening treatment won't make it as silky as Tom Cruise's hair, it just makes it straight. You could try washing your hair every two or three days and conditioning every day. That's what I do. It keeps it less frizzy.

maybe you need a new kind of shampoo and conditioner. I recomment Dove Shampoo and Condtioner. I use it and lovee the results. okay so wash ur hair with the shampoo, and put conditioner on for about 3 minutes, then wash it off. After about 4 days or so, it'd be really shoft and shinyyy. You should you really it so yea ^.^

hoped this helped.
