NR rule with oily hair: never use the hair conditioner on the scalp or on the roots of your hair.
Use a shampoo suited to your hair. I use from time to time a colorated shampoo, who has same colour with my hair, because I don't wanna change my color only remove the grease and make it shinny.

I wouldn't spend money on high dollar salons. I just use Sunsilk and my hair is about 17'' long and really thick and wavy. and all I use is sunsilk and it gets rid of the waves and makes it feel 10x's lighter. so just try it and you don't have to pay high dollar it affordable on any budget.
