Is a malibu treatment for getting rid of green from blonde hair?

if it isnt, what is it for?

Is a malibu treatment for getting rid of green from blonde hair?

A Malibu Treatment is a very natural treatment used to rid hair of impurities such as: well water or hard water build up, brassiness, and yes--green tint from chlorine. It works. Have it done at a salon--20 minutes under the dryer with a plastic cap on.

P.S. There is an answer above from Tweetybird--don't listen to that please!!! Putting a stripper on your hair will ruin it. She needs to go back to cosmetology school and learn some new tricks of the trade. I've seen some pretty bad advice from her on a few of these questions.

That must be a new fang-led treatment named by the beauty shop or cosmetologist, as some people are called, Because a good brand stripper should be used to remove the chlorine you swam in, which will remove the green color, but may also change the natural color.

The only thing I know about for taking care of swimming (green) hair that has "Malibu" in the name is this Malibu C shampoo and conditioner my sister and I use during the swim season. We buy it at this little shop by our house, and it smells amazing. It works really well, too!

Yes, it has multiple uses, conditions, removes impurities, color too brassy, and chlorine build up. It is the timing under the dryer that gives you the results. Once you have done that, use Paul Mitchell 3 for removing chlorine after you go swimming. Try wetting your hair before you go into the pool, spray a leave in conditioner, then go swimming. Immediately, rinse your hair after swimming and wash with the Paul Mitchell 3. Always use conditioner after you use any clarifying shampoo. This should help, after the Malibu treatment.

Good Luck!

As a licensed Cosmetologist for 20 years, and living in the south, I have seen lots of "summer" green hair.

After trying every clarifier on the market, and calling several of the name-brand hair color hotlines, we consulted with a local swimming pool company. KETCHUP...one word...it works...

On bleached blonde, or natural that has turned a greenish color here is the deal: Dampen the hair with a spray bottle. Take a large bottle of ketchup (squirt bottle of course:) and start applying the ketchup. This is rather messy and doesn't smell wonderful so be prepared. Saturate all of the hair, seperating it somewhat to let this soak in. Place a plastic cap on the head, and wait about 30 minutes. Rinse hair with cool water, then shampoo and condition the hair.. This treatment really works, and doesn't dry your hair out like some of the clarifiers, as the ketchup contains the color, but also the oil to protect your hair.
