Hair 911! help plz?

ive heard that the olive oil hair treatment works... please tell me how to do it.

do i put it on wet/dry hair?

how much oil do i use?

how long do i leave it on for?

do i need to heat the oil or can i use it room temp.?

is it hard to get out?

how often should i do this oil treatment?

when will i see results?

etc.

my hair is pretty thick and dry %26amp; damaged... im getting it cut next week to get rid of split ends

I've tried half and avocado with extra virgin olive oil, to where it made a nice creamy paste the texture of shampoo. You don't need too much olive oil. If you're hair is long do the whole avocado. You don't have to heat it. Leave it in as long as you like, I do it for an hour. And just wash it out. Try using a shampoo for dry hair. I recommend Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo and Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep conditioner. It has olive, meadowfoam seed, and sweet almond, so you can do the avocado treatment once a week.

It works wonders! My hair was nice and soft after a couple of uses. It's really cheap at like Wal-Mart or Walgreens.

Also if you want to try something easier that I think works better than the olive oil is Instant Self-Warming Hot Oil from Tresemme. You can use it every week and it works so well and you don't have to prepare anything. Just buy the little box of 3 tubes for about $2.50 at Wal-Mart. It says to use it before you shampoo. But I shampoo first, then I put it in. I find it lathers better that way. Then just massage for a minute and comb through your hair with a wide-tooth comb and don't rinse it. Just add shampoo to your hair and then wash. And then conditioner. It leaves your hair smelling so nice too! Check it out at this website.

my suggestion; insterad of using olive oil, got to shopper's drug mart, or a local drug store and buy a Hot Oil Treatment kit. It works well, makes hair impecably shiny and soft, and Supposedly prevents damage.

forget about olive oil, just buy the kit and follow the directions. Its much simpler.

My mom used to put olive oil in my hair when i came out of the shower when i was younger. My hair wasnt entirely damp i just kinda dried it with a towel then put in the olive oil, u dont need much or it will be oily and stuff, just use like a couple drops of it. I'm not sure how long it takes to see results but my hair was really long and shiny :D

if you are getting it cut to prevent split ends then dont use it yet i would use it heated so it would be more like a hot oil treatment and you should use it evry1-2 months it wont heart and you will see results like 15 minutes after it sits i would suggest you just buy hot oil treatment it is much better and it will work way better if you sit under a dryer for about 15-30 minutes
