I take methotrexate for the treatment of arthritis. It seems to be making my hair fall out?

I know this is a side effect. Do you know if there is anything I can do to stop losing my hair? I might have to be on this drug a long time and I don't want to lose all of my hair! Thanks!!!

Methotrexate is a toxic drug. It's used for treating cancer by killing the fast growing cells in your body. Hair is one category of those fast growing cells.

Have you looked into using natural methods to treat your arthritis? I've talked to many people who had arthritis who are glad they did.

Good luck to you and be well.

Talk to your doctor and ask him if there is another drug that will make you not lose your hair. its simple.

also, eat healthy to make your hair not fall out.

Losing your hair is a side effect and there isn't anything you can do. Once you stop the methotrexate it should grow back.
