Is laser hair removal can remove underarm odor?

i consult my dermatologist about my underarm odor, she told me that the hair follicle that produce fatty oil glands [appocrine glands] causes the odor, i don't worry about the sweating but my main problem is the odor.

Is it ok if i try the expensive laser hair removal treatment just to treat my underarm odor? risking my $1000 cash?

Is laser hair removal can remove underarm odor?

Theoretically it will help because there will be less hair to 'hold' the odor. Make sure you go to someone experienced with new equipment. I had 4 treatments 6 years ago and the hair is still gone.

The attached site should help.

No ! Laser removal will kill the hair but not the sweat gland.

Instead, try a lower fat diet with simple whole foods for a few days to see the result. Also, you might try bathing twice a day and making sure that you apply a n anti-perspirant and deodorant.

Your dermatologist is completely correct those apocrine glands do really produce smelly secretions. Yes theoretically the laser treatment should work and you will kill two birds with one stone. The laser kills the hair follicle and therefore killing everything else with it. A friend of mine did laser treatments for excessive hair grown on her face. They told her 8 treatments should be enough, but after 8 treatments there was no change. So the doctor told her another 8 treatments and then another 8. I think all together she got about 36 treatments. You have to pay for all of them. I think eventually the doctor started giving her discounts because of the unexpected duration of treatment. So you might want to consult the doctor who is giving you the treatments to find out for sure and how many treatments you will need. Make sure you ask him what happens if the treatment fails.

Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had it for a long time before learning this.

Check out this article about hyperhidrosis, grains, and sugars. Scroll about halfway down the page.

I had hyperhidrosis and other symptoms for many years. I tried all the usual treatments including ETS surgery, prescriptions, antiperspirants, botox, etc. The surgery was most helpful but several years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

This year I was diagnosed with food allergies due to celiac disease. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet. I stopped all prescriptions and began taking supplements with B Vitamins, Folic Acid, magnesium and other minerals.
